J-E-L-L-O

Back in April, we inherited Randy's old set of Alphabet Jiggler cutters! This is the second time we've pulled them out and made some.  Ella loves it and is getting pretty good at cutting them and getting them out of the pan on her own now.  It also gives us a chance to practice the letters and their sounds..

Did I mention she's really PROUD of her work??

We made some to save for Daddy when he got home from work :)

Enjoying the jiggly jello LOL

OOPS!

Ouch!

For those of you on facebook, I'm sure you've been following Randy's most recent adventure.  Last week, he was up all night Thursday night with bad stomache pains that wouldn't go away.  By Friday morning they were getting worse and nothing seemed to help relieve them.  I was supposed to work so I called his brother Justin and asked if he could come help Randy watch the kids while I was gone so Randy could rest.  Well, by the time Justin was heading over, the pains were becoming unbearable to Randy.  We decided with the help of a friend, that Randy needed to go to the ER for some testing.  Once we got there, they gave Randy some Morphine to get him resting comfortably and ordered the CT.  A huge jug of contrast and one CT scan later, and they were prepping the OR. Randy definitely had appendicitis and they wanted to remove it before it had a chance to rupture.  By that evening his appendix was long gone!!  His recovery has been fairly smooth.  He's still sore, but he is a trooper.  We are so thankful that everything went well and the Doctors were able to catch this in time!

and this one cracked me up...Ella was sweet and loaned him her Dora tray to use until he was better.  He's goofy and he thought it would be funny to take a picture with the tray and the stool softeners I was making him take everyday! LOL

Goggles

Two weeks ago at Noah's Birthday party, one of Ella's friends was wearing a pair of goggles.  Ever since then, Ella has been desperate for a pair of her own.  She's been telling me all about goggles and how you can wear them in the water and the water wont get in your eyes!  She says she "really needs a pair"...Well, I told her if she helped me out some around the house we could look for a pair at Wal Mart today.  So she helped me unload all the silverware from the dishwasher, put away groceries, and pick up her toys from the living room.  She was thrilled when we found the goggle section!  She picked out a blue pair and has been giddy ever since.  I laughed so hard I cried when I loaded these up and looked through them.  Partly because they are so silly and partly because it brings me so much joy to see her excitement and happiness over a $1.50 pair of goggles.  I love seeing her smile.

I snuck in and took this pic earlier of her during her nap. They were all fogged up lol

As I write this, she's sitting next to me wearing them on her head. She hasn't taken them off since they came out of the package.  Oh to be two again!!!

First Harvest!

You all know how corny I am..and if you didn't know this about me, you are about to be enlightened!  I'm all about the cheese factor so in true form, I had my hubby follow me out to the garden with the camera earlier this week.  It was time to pick our very first cucumber and I wanted to have a descent blog post out of the ordeal!  Well, after I looked back through the different "poses" of me picking the cucumber..I did feel a little silly.  So I will just give you a quick glance instead and spare you the cheese and spare myself from all the laughs!

Here is our very first cucumber!  I think it looks pretty darn cute and let me tell you it was YUMMY!  We took it in and used it in a salad that night.  It was so fresh and delicious!

and just because...here's one of the pics of me picking the cucumber..because I'm dorky like that.

And here are a few picks of the other veggies almost ready for harvest.  Both of these have actually been picked since I took these earlier in the week.

Another cucumber..

and squash...
Yum Yum!

Happy Birthday Noah!

To my sweet baby boy!  We love you so much.  I can't even believe you are ONE today.  Was this all really one year ago??
So here goes...

At one..you're not walking yet, but you love to cruise around and get into everything.  You have learned how to really stretch and get to the things we don't want you to touch.  You laugh so much.  You think sissy and I are oh-so funny and that makes us feel like a million bucks.  You love to talk and so far can say da-da, mama, ella, that, this, quack-quack, uh-oh, moh (more), you actually try to say everything we do, but most of your other "words" all sound the same! You love to eat (still) and love to play outside.  Still loveeee dogs.  You are happiest when you're in the water..a little fishy!  You can sign for "more", "please", "drink", and "all done" and we're almost there with "eat".  You love playing the "uh-oh" game where you drop things over and over and watch mommy pick them up, you have THE BEST smile that's can really light up a room.  I could just go on and on! We are so thankful to be your mommy and daddy!  We love you to pieces!!!

3 days...

Only 3 days until Saturday and my little guy will be ONE!  We are so excited for this big milestone, but it's definitely bitter sweet.  I just can't believe he could possible be a year old!?  It has flown by so quickly!!  We are finishing up the last minute touches on his Fishy themed pool party.

On Monday, our good friend Lindsay of Lindsay Moore Photography asked if we could come by so she could snap some 1st Birthday pics of Noah.  We were SOO excited!  She took several and he was in a great mood, too!  I'll give you a little sneak peek of what she has edited so far..LOVE this adorable boy!!

Garden Update

Thought I'd post some pics and an update on our garden.  We've been having alot of fun with it!  Ella especially loves to come out with me and poke around out there.  Anytime we head out, she runs to put on her hot pink Dora gardening gloves.  They're huge on her, but she doesn't care.  I can't wait until we can actually eat some stuff from it!

Here are the cucumbers that are taking over :)
Last night, we spotted our very first little cucumber growing!
And it's hard to tell in these pics, but these are the beginnings of our very first squash.

This pic is a little better of the squash..Yum!

Tomatoes....

Some of the carrots..I am actually going to finally thin them out later today.  They just got to the point where you can tell what's what! We got a new sprinkler last week and some of them got washed away by it!! Oops!  Now we have it up on a block so it's working much better! LOL We still managed to keep  a few carrots though.  I will probably just use the space that got washed up to plant pumpkins later this Summer :)

Okra :)

Sweet Corn :)

Bell Peppers!

Potatoes :)

And last....my poor Green Beans!  Not exaggerating, I probably pulled 5 or 6 bugs of this plant last night! I had been going out regularly to pick bugs and the plants had healed up nicely...then I slacked off for 2 or 3 days and THIS happened.. they devoured him!  So we are back on full time bug patrol and I am also going to pick up some Neem Oil per Megan's suggestion (Thanks!!!).  I've had several people recommend different bug sprays and powders to me, but I just can't bring myself to put it on there!  I know that's silly!  I don't buy only organic produce anyways, but I would if I could afford it.  I would just prefer to use as little as possible because I know I'm going to take it right inside to feed my babies....Anyways, I am going to try the Neem Oil later this week if I don't have them back under control because it's all natural....so...here's the pic of my sad little bean bush :(

This one is the worst one out there..some of the others are holding up alright
Besides the beans, we are enjoying everything else!  It's been so fun to watch everything grow! It's been work, but not nearly as bad as I expected.  Now we're getting close to the really exciting part where we can reap the fruit of our hard work!

Splashground Fun!

We may have found a new favorite place for the Summer.  Last week we went to the Pepsi Splashground in Kinston with our Greenville Mommies friends.  It took us a good 30 minutes to drive there from Greenville, but the cost to enter is only $1.  Ella had so much fun playing in the water!  What a fun way to cool off from this heat!
