Little Lincoln

Last week Ella learned about Presidents at school.
The craft she made and brought home made me giggle, because I thought it was cute.

Ella on the other hand didn't agree...and wasn't in the mood for giggling when I made her pose for a picture for her scrapbook. But these are the cute little crafts and moments I dont want to forget.
My Little Abe Lincoln

Okay. Maybe I would cry if I had to wear it, too.

Can I play "Dat Car Game"

Okay so I didn't make it a week straight..BUT I'm getting better, right?!? I'm definitely trying. I've been a little busy these days getting bossed around by a two year old and a little guy who is almost 8 months old. They keep me on my toes..but they keep me smiling, too.

This video cracks me up. Ella frequently asks to play "Dat Car Game". What she means is that she wants to play Mario Kart on the Wii. She is pretty funny to watch, but having her call me in to help every 2 minutes because her car is stuck against the wall..not so much fun. It's not so bad though since she obviously only plays every once in a blue moon. I don't know why I find it so funny to watch her play this game. I guess it's because she just seems like too much of "baby" to me..but nope. Not anymore. This video is complete proof that she isn't a baby anymore!!

The Little Snowman that could.

Mr. Snowman, our first family snowman.

Every morning I tell Ella that today may be his last day, but he is a survivor!

He's a determined little snowman! The whole yard is back to normal, but Mr. Snowman is still standing strong....okay maybe not strong..but he's still standing!!

See ya next year our little snow friend! ;)

Thankful.

Been busy keeping up with my little guy since he's sick. He had a lingering cough that turned out to be RSV. I was pretty familiar with what was in store for me since Ella had RSV when she was a baby, too. But she wasn't as bad off and didn't have double ear infections as well. My poor boy had alot more on his plate. Still I am in awe. You can tell just by his eyes that he feels horrible. He's not sleeping good. Not really eating as well as usual. Just feeling yucky. Yet when you make eye contact with him and say anything, you are greeted with the biggest smile. This boy will smile his way through anything and I love that so much about him.

Last night, after she'd been asleep an hour or so, I heard Ella yelling for me from her room. She said her tummy was sick and sure enough she ended up throwing up. Thankfully it wasn't that bad. It had been awhile since she had dinner. This was good for both of us. I let her come sleep in the bed with me until Randy got home and he put her back to bed. She woke up this morning with a fever, but she seems to be feeling just fine. Hopefully it's on its way out!
I was just sitting here thinking that in any other circumstance, this could be a really crummy day. Yesterday was long and exhausting and then today I have TWO sick kids. I've been dealing with meds every two hours and feedings every three and all the other stuff in between. But ya know..it really isn't that bad today. I'm thankful that I have kids that are just generally happy. They are smiling and having fun with each other despite feeling bad.
I'm also thankful for my husband who is working so hard to keep up with being a full time husband, and full time father, full time student, and part time worship leader and yet finds time to leave me flowers. It was late into the morning before I saw them sitting there on an end table. But they were there on the perfect day that I needed them. Just because.

Ice Ice Baby

I'm sure you're all shocked to see that there's actually something new on my blog.
Since most of you have already seen our pictures from the snow this week on facebook (if not, click here) I decided to save some of the ones from yesterday to only post on here. To give you all something new, fresh, and special. ;)

We definitely had a blast playing in the snow!! Noah came out for maybe 10 minutes or so for pictures and then I took him back inside for a nap. He has been sick and I didn't want to keep him in the cold for too long) That gave the rest of us sometime to play! I feel bad for Ella having such silly, immature parents. We were um, well, really excited about the snow and acting like we were 12. Hopefully one day she will appreciate that about us (and not just be really embarrassed!)

A weekend "iced in" also involved Ella picking out her own clothes. This is always interesting.
Anyways, these are just a couple of the "aftermath" pics once everything iced over. We couldn't really "play" much in it, but we still walked around and crunched through the ice for fun. We also had a really fun time trying to get the van out from underneath the iceberg that had formed on top of it so that we could get out of the house awhile. We took a little trip to Sonic and let Ella run around in the van while we ate. That was the best we could do at getting "out". Still fun though!

Pardon some of the pics of all the icicles. Remember I'm from Florida, so I took alot of them from inside my cozy house just looking out the window. I know, I'm a wimp.

This picture is from yesterday morning. Since the roads were expected to be really iced over and slick in the morning, we weren't able to have church. This got the Pastor and staff of our church in creative mode and they decided to hold church online. They did everything by web cams on the staff's individual computers at their house. So somewhere around 140 people logged on and watched. Because Randy is the Worship Leader at Discovery, we got to sing and lead worship sitting on our couch in the living room with the web cam in front of us. It was one of the neatest things I've been a part of! So here is Randy the morning of, talking and working on the computer as they were preparing and making sure it was working right.

Sorry once again that my blog has been so boring and uneventful. I'm getting horrible at this, but I will get back going again! I have given myself my own little challenge to post something every day for one week straight. So keep checking back, because I am really going to work hard at actually posting again! :))
