Chocolate loving Bandit!

After Randy picked up some groceries last week, Ella has now discovered the joys of Cocoa Pebbles. We both just give her bites here and there of ours, but I hear that one morning while I wasn't home, Ella got to have a bowl of her own. Anyways, she takes after us both in that she *loves* chocolate..
Here are some pics of Randy and Ella sharing cereal Sunday before church...

Notice that in this pic, she brought her own spoon from her kitchen set just in case she needed it!

A few days ago I was going through Ella's diaper bag and found a Ninja head piece in our bag. At first I could not figure out what it was or where it came from. Randy and I soon figured out that it belonged to a friend's little boy who was at Chandler's Birthday party. Apparently, Ella decided to claim it and put it in our bag. Meanwhile, poor Seth (a 4 year old) has been searching everywhere at home to find it in time for Halloween! Thankfully, we will be seeing them tonight and can safely return his costume..but I had to get a couple of pics to show you!

Got Cheese??

On Thursday, Ella decided she needed a little snack, so she helped herself to the rest of the cheese we had been eating with crackers earlier in the day. She was breaking off some for herself and sharing some with Princess, too! I took a little video of it that I will try and get up within the next couple of days (I have to work today). She is just in to everything these days, but lucky for her, she is SO cute that she gets away with WAY more than she should!!

Old Faithful..

For those of you who don't know, I have naturally curly hair which I straighten on a regular basis. Occasionally I will leave my hair curly, but most of the time I prefer to have it straight. Probably 5 years or so ago, I got a CHI flat iron. Well, Saturday night it was involved in a near fatal accident. See, I left it laying on the floor (oops!) right inside our door. We have a big mirror on the back of our bedroom door which I had been using to fix my hair earlier. Well, Randy accidentally stepped on the flat iron and snapped the handle in two. Thankfully, all of the wires were still attached so he was able to fix it for me. Thank goodness! Thought you might enjoy the pictures of my new and improved straightener fully equipped with Popsicle stick support system. It's one of a kind, but it still works!!

End of weekend post..

Here's a little update on our weekend..
Friday we went to Chandler's Birthday party which was a medieval theme. All of the boys were dressed as knights and the girls were princess'. It was a lot of fun. Randy had baseball practice, but he made the first part and had a chance to play one of the games with the kids. The boys had a treasure they were guarding and Randy was some sort of bandit or bad guy that got to ambush them in the woods and try to steal from them. Basically a bunch of running around in the woods, but I think they had a blast!

Meanwhile at the party, Ella was collecting beads and wearing them around. See here in North Carolina, we show our Belly Buttons for beads!! lol

She also had a chance to play with the baby doll for awhile, too. Notice the little baby potty in the left corner that Ella was using to dip the bottle in to refill. Looked like a bowl to her!

Saturday, I worked most of the afternoon. We went to set up in the evening and then went to our friends Tony and Terry's house to join some others and hang out. The boys watched the game most of the time and the girls did what we do best..talk.
That brings me to today which can be summed up very quickly. Church in the morning and then I had to head back up at 5 for a girls small group I teach with Sheila. (I think I'll leave out the extra long nap between the two!!)

Randomness...

I need to get more batteries for my camera and for some reason I don't like to blog without pictures..It's like my blogs are always centered around pictures..but I decided to blog anyways...and this blog is like the title in that it's very random..

Just got back from Ella's 15 month check up..She is 19lbs. 9 oz. and 30 inches long. Still a small girl who is supposed to be riding in a rear facing car seat!! Only problem is that her long legs would be jammed up against the seat so we finally got to turn her forward. (See last post). Plus, I am willing to bet that if we weighed her after she eats she sould be 20 lbs! Anyways, she is nice and healthy and working on 5 teeth coming in. They had to give her 3 shots and it was pretty terrible. She was fighting with all she had!! Now that we're home every once in a while she will talk some really mean sounding jiberish followed by "Ouchie!" in a really high voice and then point to her band aids. Funny, but sad.

Now for a funny, but sweet story I thought I'd also share. Yesterday when I got home from babysitting the Ebeling's, there were some fresh flowers on one of my cofee tables. When Randy got home, I told him thankyou and that it was really sweet. I had no idea just how sweet it really was...See later that night, while we were driving Randy says, "Remember your flowers?", "Yes..." I say. "Want to know where I got them??".."You mean you didn't get them from the store??"...Now keep in mind this isn't just a vase with like a couple of the same flowers, it's like 3 different kinds that all look really pretty together. So Randy goes on to say that he really wanted to get me flowers because that's probably my favorite thing to get (that and chocolate!!), but he also knew that money was tight, so he drove around town and picked these flowers! Now I know what your all wondering, because after I told him how sweet and thoughtful it was, the next thing I just had to know was, "please tell me you didn't pick them from peoples yards!?" lol. He said no. In fact, two of the types came from different sides of a ditch almost under a bridge. He spotted purple ones from the road and then found white ones while hiking back with them. The best, I have saved for last...See the pink ones did in fact come from a grocery store! He found them on the bushes, right there in the Harris Teeter parking lot! lol. He's crazy, and I sometimes don't know why, but I love him.

I promise I will get batteries soon and update the pics..

*UPDATE*
They're just pics from my phone, but they'll do!

The flowers how I found them:

Ella's New Kitchen

While my mom was here Ella got a new kitchen set. She wants to play with it ALL the time. Her favorite thing to do is load and unload the dishwasher (woo hoo, I hope she likes doing that when she gets bigger!! lol) and "play eat" with the dishes. It's so cute to watch! She is having a ton of fun with it so far and she can't even reach the top level yet!!

New Pictures..

Sorry for the gap between posts! We have been very busy and my mom has been in town since Sunday. We are having a great time with her here. We are running out of room for all of Ella's new stuff, too. On Monday we went to Say Cheese to get some Fall/Halloween pictures done. They came out really good!! There were SO many good ones that we could hardly choose!
Enjoy the pics for now and I will post again tomorrow :)

New Shoes..

We had a great Friday. Ella and I went to a play date at the park in the morning, followed by grocery shopping, and lunch with Randy. We came home and got some stuff done around the house, and now I am about to go to Ladies Night Out. We're having a progressive dinner and I am SO excited!
While I was still pregnant, my mom bought Ella the *cutest* pair of pink converse shoes. They finally fit and with the cold weather it was a perfect chance for her to try them out at the park today. They are so adorable!!
*Having fun playing in the yard*

*Oh yeah! I got my hair trimmed, too! I am already loving having my sister as a hair dresser, I get to have my hair done all the time!! :)
