It's probably been years since I've given myself an official "New Year's Resolution". This year I decided to set some goals for myself and really stick to them.
The first I suppose is the usual one that everyone always picks. Health. I've decided to join a gym and start exercising on a regular basis. I'm really excited to get started soon and I am really determined to keep it up!! Sometimes it's so easy to start things at the beginning of the year and slowly let them slip away as time passes. I really hope this doesn't happen, but I guess it will just take a lot of commitment on my end!
The second is the one that is most important to me. It's to put my family first. I know that sounds like a no brainer, but it's very easy for me to let other people interfere with that. I have always been a "people pleaser" by nature. I just really love being available and it brings me joy to help people out. Only problem is that because so many people know they can always count on me, I tend to be busy and tied down all week. I have decided that this year I am going to take a little break from the craziness! I was cleaning the house a few weeks ago and feeling completely overwhelmed with all of the things I wanted to get done and needed to get done. That's when it really hit me that I have been doing so much for other people that I have not given my own household the time it needs. I only work ONE day a week..there is no reason for me to be behind on stuff! But in reality there is because I am constantly on the go and doing other things. SO! This year, I am going to do a better job at enjoying every second with my family and and giving 100% to my job as wife and mother. After that, I will be giving and serving at church because I know it's something God has called me to do and it brings me alot of happiness, and after that, if there is any room left...I may be able to help other people out. But please don't take it personally if I have to tell you "no" this year.
Family First this year, because my family deserves to have the most of their Wife and Mama!

Laci, I think it's awesome that you're choosing to put your family first in 2010. It's definitely not easy to say no to others sometimes, but it's definitely necessary and I know your husband and children will appreciate it!
